The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco is a cherished architectural treasure, originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. Having lived in San Francisco for six years, I was astonished to realize I had never photographed the Palace of Fine Arts. During a return trip years later, I was determined to capture this iconic site. My first attempt was thwarted by San Francisco's infamous fog, but fortune smiled the next day. After a day in the city, I found myself near the Palace just as the sun had set. The golden light illuminating the structure, combined with its perfect reflection on the water, created a magical scene. Capturing this moment was unforgettable, made even better by sharing dinner and wine with friends afterward—a truly memorable evening.
