For example, if an artwork is numbered 100, it means only 100 prints will ever be created, regardless of whether you select a 30-inch, 40-inch, or 60-inch version. This ensures that every size variation remains exclusive within the total edition. Once the 100 prints are sold, the edition is permanently closed, preserving the rarity and value of each piece. Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon’s Pink Street, located in the city’s Cais do Sodré district, is a lively and colorful landmark that reflects the city’s modern artistic flair. Originally part of Lisbon’s red-light district, this area underwent a transformation in 2011, with Rua Nova do Carvalho painted pink as a symbol of renewal and vibrancy. Today, it’s a hotspot for nightlife, art, and culture, frequented by locals and tourists alike. Its iconic pink pavement, combined with umbrellas and lights overhead, creates a whimsical and unforgettable scene.
I hadn’t planned to photograph Pink Street during my trip to Lisbon, but a morning walk led me to this charming location. I discovered the street after a Lisbon football match the night before, and it was in quite a state of disarray. Despite this, I saw the potential for a striking image. As a photographer and retoucher, I spent considerable time in post-production cleaning up the scene, bringing out the vibrant colors and energy I envisioned when I first saw it.
Randy Van Duinen’s fine art photography brings life and elegance to residential and corporate spaces. His images, including those that celebrate Lisbon’s unique culture, provide visually stunning focal points for any interior, evoking a sense of wonder and inspiration.
