For example, if an artwork is numbered 100, it means only 100 prints will ever be created, regardless of whether you select a 30-inch, 40-inch, or 60-inch version. This ensures that every size variation remains exclusive within the total edition. Once the 100 prints are sold, the edition is permanently closed, preserving the rarity and value of each piece. Staircases have always fascinated me, particularly spiral staircases. Whether it's the architectural ingenuity or the striking visual patterns they create, I'm constantly on the lookout for them when I'm out photographing.
On a recent trip to Chicago, one of my main objectives was to capture some of the city's many spiral staircases. Among these, I found a modern spiral staircase inside the Chicago Museum of Art that seemed perfect for a black-and-white photograph.
The resulting image, Wandering Eye, beautifully captures the graphic essence of this staircase. The choice of black-and-white photography enhances the design, inviting viewers to appreciate the intricate lines and curves without the distraction of color.
