The Desert Wave

Death Valley National Park is an extraordinary place, home to some of the most remarkable landscapes on our planet. From the depths of Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the United States, to the sweeping curves of the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, this park is a study in natural contrasts. The stark beauty of the desert provides the perfect backdrop for fine art photography, where every detail speaks to the timeless forces of nature.
During my time photographing the Mesquite Flat Dunes, I was struck by the remnants of footprints left in the sand, leading my eye toward the distant dunes. The delicate textures of the shifting sands, combined with the strong desert light, created an interplay of highlights and shadows that emphasized the dunes’ graceful shapes. As the wind kicked up a fine layer of sand, a misty haze enveloped the scene, adding a surreal, almost otherworldly atmosphere to the moment.
By adding "The Desert Wave" to your fine art collection, you are bringing the stunning beauty of Death Valley into your home. This landscape photograph, with its intricate details and soft, natural hues, captures the essence of the desert’s untamed elegance. It is the perfect piece to enrich your interior space, creating a sense of peace and connection to one of the world’s most fascinating landscapes.

Ada Covered Bridge in Cheer
The Ada Covered Bridge, also known as the "Bradfield Bridge," is a charming historic structure located in Ada, Michigan. Built in 1867, this 125-foot-long bridge spans the Thornapple River and is one of the few remaining covered bridges in the state. Its unique construction and picturesque surroundings make it a beloved landmark, especially during the winter months when snow blankets the landscape and holiday lights enhance its nostalgic beauty.
While visiting Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I grew up, I stumbled upon the Ada Covered Bridge shortly after a snowfall just before Christmas. To my surprise, the bridge was illuminated with festive Christmas lights, creating a magical scene. I captured the image, which became a personal favorite. One of my close friends admired the photograph so much that they displayed it above their fireplace mantel. Every time I see it in their home, I can’t help but smile, remembering that special moment.
