Badwater’s Textured Saltscape
$1,900.00
Nestled in Death Valley National Park, Badwater Basin is an expansive salt flat that holds the record as the lowest elevation in North America. This seemingly endless expanse of salt polygons was created by the evaporation of ancient lakes, leaving behind a stark and fascinating landscape. Badwater’s desolation, combined with its dramatic textures and contrasts, makes it a favorite location for photographers aiming to capture its unique beauty.
When creating "Badwater’s Textured Saltscape," I focused on the intricate salt patterns illuminated by the soft post-sunset light. Moments earlier, the landscape felt harsh and foreboding, but as the sun dipped lower, the soft light transformed the basin into something entirely different. The delicate details of the salt formations came alive, highlighting their beauty in a way that’s easy to overlook under harsher light. This transition from harshness to serenity inspired the creation of this image, emphasizing the ethereal quality of Badwater Basin.

Ada Covered Bridge in Cheer
The Ada Covered Bridge, also known as the "Bradfield Bridge," is a charming historic structure located in Ada, Michigan. Built in 1867, this 125-foot-long bridge spans the Thornapple River and is one of the few remaining covered bridges in the state. Its unique construction and picturesque surroundings make it a beloved landmark, especially during the winter months when snow blankets the landscape and holiday lights enhance its nostalgic beauty.
While visiting Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I grew up, I stumbled upon the Ada Covered Bridge shortly after a snowfall just before Christmas. To my surprise, the bridge was illuminated with festive Christmas lights, creating a magical scene. I captured the image, which became a personal favorite. One of my close friends admired the photograph so much that they displayed it above their fireplace mantel. Every time I see it in their home, I can’t help but smile, remembering that special moment.
